Absa Bank Ghana, in partnership with the Ghana Communications Technology University (GCTU), has announced plans to host the upcoming BEN-Africa Conference in Accra, Ghana.
This ethics-centered conference, which began at Nelson Mandela University Business School in South Africa, brings together leaders and stakeholders from the private, public, and non-profit sectors to advance ethical decision-making in business practices across Africa.
Speaking at the press launch, the Director of Compliance at Absa, Judith Haizel, highlighted that the partnership with the BEN-Africa Conference reinforces the bank’s commitment to championing ethical business practices and fostering dialogue around the ethical challenges and opportunities facing businesses across the African continent.
“We’ve always believed in having the ethical agenda promoted across the organisation. I wouldn’t say the key challenge but where we need to also enhance this programme, is to make sure that staff are continuously aware and have it at the back of their mind and it becomes an entrenched culture.
“So, it is a journey and not an event and so we see this conference as just one of the avenues to continue to promote the agenda within an organisation. Ethics is indeed important for us. It is an integral part of business and an integral part of leadership and it is important for the sustainable group and so we expect that this conference will lead the way and promote that agenda,” he stated.
