Mr. Alfred Amoah, Bibiani – Anhwiaso – Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive (M.C.E) has said that a Plantain Processing Factory, under the government's One District, One Factory, (1D 1F) was under construction at Subri – Nkwanta.

The MCE was delivering the keynote address at the 35th Annual Farmers Day Celebration held by the Bibiani – Anhwiaso – Bekwai Municipal Assembly (BABMA) at Akaasu, near Sefwi Bekwai.
Mr Amoah further indicated that a 1000 – tonne capacity warehouse, under the One Constituency, One Warehouse initiative, was being constructed at Sefwi Bekwai, to store farm produce of all farmers in the municipality, to prevent post–harvest losses.
Touching on the theme for this year's celebration, "Enhancing Small Scale Agriculture towards Agri – Business Development," Mr. Amoah said the government was vigorously shifting the focus of agriculture in Ghana from a subsistence farming approach, to a business like nature.
He said failure of successive governments to introduce policies aimed at modernizing the agricultural sector, has resulted in many young persons increasingly shying away from agricultural activities.
