The Best 2018 Two Star Hotel in the Volta region, Freedom Hotel, in Ho, has been tipped to pick the national award for this year.
This follows the Hotel's consistency in the category, emerging the best in the Volta Region for five times and efforts at promoting tourism in the region and the country.
Mr Harrison Kofi Belley, a Tourism Writer said Freedom's offer of added outdoor events, which attracts local and foreign tourists including non-lodgers placed it at pole position for the award.
Mr Bob Coffie Dusu, Managing Director of the Hotel received a standing ovation at the recently held Volta Tourism Awards, where the facility was celebrated for providing "excellent services and facilities" winning the best Two Star Hotel for last year.
Miss Linda Parker, a Tourist from Japan, whose applauds perhaps was the loudest for Freedom Hotel at the Regional awards, said the Hotel's multilingual staff made the place a home for everyone and deserved celebration and national award.
She said Freedom's community tour activities, live band and other entertainment events at the poolside and other recessional areas, kept the regional capital lively for, which reason tourists flood the place.
The Managing Director of the Hotel said the Freedom's neat environment and excellent client service were what won it awards over the years and hinted of plans to establish a health spa and expand its gym to offer an all-round customer satisfaction.
He said the Hotel was also establishing a hospitality school to offer hands-on training to students and in-service capacity building for staff of the facility. Freedom Hotel, which started with ten rooms in the early 90s, now has 80 ensuite air conditioned rooms, three state-of-the art conference rooms with seating capacities between 80 and 250, modern swimming pool, a unisex salon, bars and restaurants.
