A Value Added Agri/Aqua Culture Exhibition is to take place on November 2nd to 4th 2017 in Accra.
This was made known at a press briefing by Reed Exhibitions held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Tuesday.
The expo, the largest of its kind in West Africa seeks to promote value added agriculture and aquaculture and the production thereof across countries.
Speaking at the press briefing, Reed Exhibitions' General Manager for Africa, Adele Eloff said it involves both local and international investors who will interact with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) on how to grow this initiative.
The exhibition will help exhibitors introduce their businesses to more people, connect with more potential customers, get products into the hands of more decision makers, generate more quality sales leads as well as business match making meetings.
"It will help exhibitors to add value to their products and services" she said.
The key buyer profiles targeted for the expo include processing plant owners, financial managers, facility managers, plant procurement managers/buyers, farmers, international buyers, hotels amongst others.
On the other hand, Key focus areas include agro processing equipment and technology, operational products, services and systems supporting agro processing plants, fishing equipment technology, increase in knowledge services to the agro processing and farming sectors and more.
Speaking on the importance of partnerships Adele Eloff said "for us it is important to partner with a local company because I cannot come into a country and say I know how to do it, you have to do it how I do it. We want to do business the way Ghana does"
She said exhibitors will also provide training sessions so one can know how to use their products to benefit others while making profits. MOFA will also help for example farmers to test their soil and know how to farm.
She pointed out that their exhibition is a long term investment program for them and also encouraged local farmers to speak to representatives of the ministry in their various regions in order for their concerns to be addressed as well as the formation of farmers groups to facilitate relationships between government and farmers.
