The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has introduced an online validation and contribution report submission through its website. The initiative is to enable customers to avoid queuing for long periods in transactions.
Introducing the new measure at a seminar for employers at Koforidua, SSNIT’s Area Manager for Eastern and Volta, Robert Owusu-Sekyere, said it would, among other things, allow companies to submit their SSNIT contributions, reports, and print payment advice from the luxury of their desk, while paying the actual contributions through partner banks such as the UT Bank.
Mr. Owusu-Sekyere assured the public that the SSNIT web portal would continue to be the gateway between the Trust and its contributors, because it had been designed to make information and service resources available from many sources to the employer in an effective manner.
“The website or portal provides yet another channel for members of the SSNIT scheme and the general public to communicate with SSNIT through enquiries, requests and complaints,” he said.
The seminar which was attended by 200 participants was replicated in all the regional capitals.
