MainOne Cable Company has appointed Mr Africanus Mensah, a Ghanaian Petroleum Engineer, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the corporate entity in Ghana, effective March 24.
Mr Mensah’s appointment confirms MainOne’s continuous efforts to build its knowledge and skills capacity to achieve the mission of
bridging the digital divide in Africa, a statement issued in Accra by the company said.
Mr Mensah, graduated as a petroleum engineer from the University of Texas in Austin, USA. He also possesses management certificates from MIT Sloan, USA and the University of Michigan Business School also in the USA.
His career began in the Oil and Gas industry with Schlumberger Oilfield services limited, where he worked for 18 years and rose to the position of Vice President for West Africa operations and VP QHSE for North and South America Region.
During his career with Schlumberger, he worked in 11 different countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Italy, France, Angola and Nigeria.
Mr Mensah is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Amaja Oilfield Services Limited and a business Partner with Sema Business Solutions, which was previously the IT and consulting arm of
Schlumberger Ltd.
Sema Business Solutions is a leading IT services provider in West Africa, with offices in Lagos and Accra.
Mr Mensah sits on the boards of various companies in Ghana and plays an integral part in the development of Ghana Petroleum Sector as
advisor and consultant.
