The Building and Road Research Institute (BRRI) Credit Union at Fumesua, near Kumasi, on Tuesday inaugurated a GH92,035 permanent office complex to enhance its operations.
The project, which was started in year 2007, has facilities for banking hall, conference room, offices for management staff and a kitchen.
The inauguration coincided with the 38th annual general meeting of the Union.
Mrs Comfort Addae, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, lauded the founders and past leaders of the Union for their foresight and dedication that had ensured the growth and expansion of the Union.
She said the Union's profit went up from GH12,290 in 2008 to GH17,747 in 2009, representing 44.39 per cent increase.
Savings mobilisation also shot up to GH599,859 from GH511,186 during the same period.
Mrs Addae said the Union had been able to meet the Cooperative Credit Unions Association's (CUA) savings threshold, adding that, it had now moved from grade "B" category to "A".
On support to members, she said, it granted a total of GH31,646 as educational loan to enable them to pay for the education of their children.
Mrs Addae commended members for their support and appealed to them to increase their savings to enhance the capital base of the Union.
Mr Eugene Atiemo, Director of BRRI, suggested to the Management Board to initiate a scheme to reward members, who had worked tirelessly for its growth over the years.
He called on all to work together to promote the growth and good image of the Union.
