South Korea has been designated as the
"Partner Land" country to an international industrial parts industrial forum n Germany, the government said Thursday.
The Asia-Pacific Forum Bavaria 2010 is one of the top events in the European country that aims to introduce companies that want to invest in the
Asia-Pacific markets to potential venture opportunities, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy said.
South Korea's selection as a main focus country at the forum, which will be held through Thursday, highlights the overall attractiveness of South
Korea as an investment destination, the ministry said.
"The gathering will be used to explain overall economic and business conditions and help forge tie ups in eco-friendly green growth industry
areas," the ministry said.
It said Kim Kyung-sik, the assistant minister for trade and investment, who is heading the government delegation, will introduce German companies to various business incentives offered by Seoul.
About 100 German companies have expressed interest in starting operations in South Korea.
In addition to government officials, private companies such as Hyundai Motor Co., POSCO and Mando Corp. have sent representatives to Nuremburg to hold talks with prospective partners and investors.
