The Energy Minister, Dr. Joseph Oteng Agyei, has performed the ceremony to mark the official inauguration of a GH¢ 200,000 one-storey school block built at Feyiase in the Bosomtwe district.
It consists of six classrooms, a conference hall, staff common room, offices for two Head teachers and washrooms.
The Chiefs used proceeds from the sale of stool lands to finance the project as the people provided labour.
Dr. Oteng-Agyei praised the community for complementing government's efforts at creating the right environment for teaching and learning.
He encouraged parents to take keen interest in the education of their children, telling them that, this was the best legacy they could leave offer
them.
The Minister suggested the enactment of a byelaw by the district assembly to check truancy among school children and render night outings
punishable.
Dr. Oteng-Agyei pledged to help extend electricity to all parts of the community, especially the newly developed areas.
He made a personal donation of GH¢500.00 in support of the construction of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre in the town and promised to donate three computers to the centre when it becomes operational.
Mr. Simon Osei Mensah, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, congratulated the chiefs and people for their initiative and drive, and
pledged to supply the school with ceiling fans.
Additionally, he would make available GH¢1,000.00 and 20 bags of cement for the construction of the ICT centre.
Mr. Edward Nti-Berko, the District Chief Executive, said the Assembly would provide the school with furniture.
