MTN subscribers in the country, surged to eight million, last year, a rise of 24 percent.
Mrs Mawuena Trebarh, Corporate Services Executive, said the rise gives MTN a market share of 55 per cent, despite fierce competition in the
telecommunications industry.
She was speaking at the regional launch of the MTN external newsletter and stakeholder interaction at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi.
The publication is aimed at enhancing public knowledge about telecommunications and the importance of Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) innovation to socio-economic development.
Mrs Trebarh attributed the impressive performance of the company to its development of new products and services that meet the specific needs of customers.
Added to this, is the commitment to support national development by implementing sustainable projects through the MTN Foundation.
“Through the Foundation, we have and continue to touch and transform the lives of many people in our communities.”
She said their education and health projects, for example, had seen an investment of over GH¢2,000,000.00 in just two years of the Foundation’s existence.
She invited suggestions from subscribers on how to further improve its services.
Mr Samuel Addo, Ashanti Regional Senior Manager, Sales, pledged that MTN would continue to ensure quality services to maintain their market lead.
