Amazon thinks the UK needs more computer engineers so it is setting up a programme to train children and adults to become computer scientists.
Doug Gurr, head of Amazon UK and global vice-president says that "Amazon Future Engineer" trains people "from the classroom to the workplace".
He says it comes in three stages which he called the slightly ominous sounding primary school "intervention", a secondary "intervention" and a post-18 "intervention".
Will it be open to Amazon workers in the UK, who in recent years were found to be working in poor conditions where some had to urinate in bottles?
Mr Gurr says that Amazon has launched "an enormous apprenticeships scheme" which he says applies to people externally but particularly internally. It will train 1,000 apprenticeships over this year and next.
