Jubilant National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters on Sunday night poured the street of Tamale celebrating the electoral victory of the President elect, John Dramani Mahama.
The supporters comprising mostly the youth riding motor bikes amidst tooting of horns and shouting the party’s slogan “ede be keke” while others gathered in smaller groups singing and dancing around within the Metropolis.
The President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s hometown at Bole in the Northern Region also went agog as residents celebrated the achievement of one of their own.
The Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan on Sunday night declared President John Mahama winner of the 2012 Presidential election.
President Mahama polled 5,574,961 votes representing 50.70 per cent of the total votes cast as against his closest challenger Nana Akufo Addo, who polled 5,248,898 representing 47.74 per cent of the total valid votes cast.
