Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, a Deputy Minister of Energy, and Member of Parliament for Ellembelle constituency, has launched his campaign to contest for the seat in the 2012 Parliamentary election, at Kikam.
It was attended by National Democratic Congress (NDC) officials, including the General Secretary of the party, Mr. Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah.
Mr. Buah said he had brought development to the area, and appealed to the electorate to vote massively and retain him in Parliament.
The MP mentioned a programme to take care of health and social needs of the aged, and the promotion of education as some of his achievements.
Mr. Buah asked the people to retain the NDC in power to enable it to establish industries in the area.
Mr. Asiedu-Nketiah asked Ghanaians to determine which of the two political parties; the NDC and the New Patriotic Party, was more committed to the ideals of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first President.
The NDC General Secretary said because the NDC government was committed to developing Nzema, it has appointment some of its citizens to sensitive positions in the administration.
Mrs. Joyce Buah, wife of the MP, said that as part of measures to empower the girl-child, she has awarded scholarships to 26 girls to enable them to complete their schooling.
She said the NDC would win the December polls ''one touch.''
