The Eastern Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr Emmanuel Quaye-Sowah, has called on the police to be very alert during this year's election and pick on early warning signals to forestall any confusion in the country.
He said the security personnel need to be very alert even when people are celebrating, because it could turn chaos if not controlled.
Mr Quaye-Sowah was speaking at a durbar of officers and men of the security services in the Eastern Region at Koforidua on Friday, as part of activities to mark the Eighth National Constitutional Week celebrations in the region.
He said the NCCE decided to conduct a survey on issues that the electorate wants to be addressed by politicians.
Mr Quaye-Sowah said most politicians in the country turn to waste the political platform and the time of the people by talking on issues, which the people are not interested in.
He called on politicians to address the issues which are of most interest to the people.
