An Electoral Officer has appealed to all registered voters to ensure that the peaceful atmosphere that characterized the voter registration and photo-taking exercises prevailed in the ongoing exhibition of the Voter's Register.
Mr Francis Addai-Boateng, Obuasi Municipal Electoral Officer, urged registered voters and the general public to make the exhibition exercise set the tone for peaceful elections in December.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview, Mr Addai-Boateng said it was important for Ghanaians to go through the exhibition process with patience so that all mistakes could be rectified to further enhance free and fair elections.
"I want to appeal to all registered voters to patronise the exhibition of the Voters' Register to help the Electoral Commission (EC) to come out with a credible voters' register", he said.
Mr Addai-Boateng expressed concern about reported cases of missing voter identity cards in the area saying the process of acquiring new cards to replace lost ones was cumbersome and advised registered voters to keep their cards well.
