Heart of Lions fought back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw against league leaders, Asante Kotoko, in an entertaining Ghana Premier League clash at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Sunday, April 6.
The Porcupine Warriors took the lead on the stroke of halftime through a fine finish by Justice Blay, who pounced in added time to hand the visitors a slim advantage heading into the break.
However, Fawzi Ali struck just two minutes after the restart to bring the home side level in what proved to be a fiercely contested second half.
The game featured end-to-end action, with both teams creating chances but failing to capitalise.
Despite the dropped points, Kotoko extended their lead at the top of the table to two points, taking advantage of Bibiani Gold Stars’ 2-0 defeat to Dreams FC.
Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and his side will see the result as a valuable point on the road as they remain firmly in control of the title race.
Their next challenge will be a home fixture against Bechem United, as they aim to return to winning ways and solidify their position at the summit.
