The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Mr Kofi Iddi Adams, visited the Black Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, March 17, to motivate the team ahead of their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
Accompanied by the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Minister Adams extended his well wishes to the players and emphasized that the stadium would be in excellent condition for the match against Chad.
On the same day, nine players commenced training with the Black Stars in Accra in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers. The players who began the session included Benjamin Asare, Joseph Wollacott, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Gideon Mensah, Kamaradini Mamudu, Razak Simpson, Antoine Semenyo, Salisu Mohammed, and Kamal Deen Sulemana.
The remaining players are expected to join the camp on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming fixtures.
Ghana will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar in their Group I clash on Monday, March 24, 2025.
With nine points from four matches, the Black Stars are currently tied with Comoros, having won three matches and suffered one defeat in Group I.
Ghana's qualifying campaign began with a 1-0 victory over Madagascar, followed by a loss to Comoros.
The team then bounced back with back-to-back wins against Mali and the Central African Republic in June of last year.
