Ferran Torres scored a first-half hat-trick as Barcelona thrashed Valencia to reach the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.

Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal were also on target for Barca, who have won the Spanish Cup a record 31 times.

Real Sociedad also advanced with a comfortable 2-0 win over 10-man Osasuna, to join Barca, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the last four.

Coming just 11 days after a 7-1 success over the same opponents, Torres' contribution, against the club he began his career with, laid the platform for another resounding victory for Hansi Flick's side, who rested Robert Lewandowski.

The 24-year-old Spain forward opened the scoring inside three minutes and reacted smartly to extend the visitor's lead when a Yamal strike rebounded off the post.

Lopez scored the third from a quick counter attack and Torres claimed his third of the evening on the half hour mark, with winger Yamal, rounding off the scoring just after the break.
