Currently third in the league with 28 points from 16 games, Kotoko trail league leaders Hearts of Lions by just two points. Despite a mixed season so far, Appiah insists their focus remains on the league trophy and a return to continental competitions.
Speaking to Akoma FM, Appiah revealed that the aim is to honor the club’s life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, whose support continues to spur on the team.
“I firmly believe our coach is well aware of the responsibility to do whatever it takes to secure our place in African competitions next season. Considering the talent within our squad and the commitment from the King, it would indeed be a significant honor to not only win the league but also secure an opportunity to compete on the continental stage, thereby bringing joy to Otumfuo,” he said.
The club last won the GPL title in 2022 under Prosper Ogum, marking their 25th league triumph.
