Ghana’s football heavyweights Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have been handed relatively straightforward assignments in the MTN FA Cup Round of 32, but Medeama SC, Nsoatreman FC, Bibiani Gold Stars, and Accra Lions face challenging fixtures as they look to secure a spot in the next stage of the competition.
The draw, held at the Ghana Football Association headquarters in Accra yesterday, saw Kotoko drawn against third-tier side Acceler8z FC, while Hearts will play hosts to Division One League outfit Home Stars at the Pobiman Hearts Park in a tie that heavily favours the Phobians.
Former Premier League champions, Medeama SC, face a tricky trip to Nsuopon, where they will take on lower-tier side Nsuopon Fidelity FC.
Bibiani Gold Stars have an equally tough task as they travel to Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinasi to face Basake Holy Stars. FA Cup holders Nsoatreman FC continue their title defence with a home clash with Young Apostles in an all-Bono Region derby that promises to be a fiery encounter.
The Round of 32 matches are scheduled to be played between January 10 and 13, 2025.
