Midfielder Matty James has signed a contract extension keeping him at Wrexham until the end of the 2025-26 season.

James joined the Dragons on a short-term contract in October having been released by Bristol City in the summer.

The 33-year-old has made seven appearances for Wrexham.

"It's really good to be settled and I'm looking forward to playing as many games as I can and help try to take the club to the next level," James said.

"I've got that focus and desire to keep progressing with the club and I'm really happy to be staying."

James, a product of the Manchester United academy, has also had spells with Leicester City and Bristol City.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said: "He has done well in his short time at the club so far and we look forward to working with him going forwards."
