Watford boss Tom Cleverley has challenged teenage striker Rocco Vata to continue improving his all-round game to earn a starting place in the side.
The 19-year-old scored his first goal for the Hornets after being sent on as a 72nd-minute substitute at Hull, which earned his side a 1-1 draw.
Vata has made 12 appearances since arriving from Scottish giants Celtic in the summer, but only two of them from the start.
"Rocco's an excellent finisher; he's hungry to score goals, and I'm sure he'll get many more for the club," Cleverley told BBC Three Counties Radio.
"I remember me as a young player coming here. I think I scored on my debut, and you feel accepted then. Rocco won us a point, and I'm really happy for him.
"It's not the final product part of his game why Rocco's not seeing the pitch as much as he'd like - and that's his challenge to improve the other parts."
Watford took a gamble on Vata's potential when they recruited him on a four-year contract.
But he does have a football pedigree as the son of former Celtic and Albania defender Rudi Vata and has already represented the Republic of Ireland from Under-15 through to Under-21 level.
Cleverley was impressed with Vata's contribution against Hull and also that of another forward prospect, 21-year-old Kwadwo Baah.
"Those two players are fantastic to bring on. They've both got bags of quality and potential," he said.
"I've challenged them to do the not-so-sexy part of the job now, and that'll get them in the team.
"We want to see more of Baah; we want to see more of Vata, and they know what I expect of them to get that starting shirt. I'm really pleased with the impact and desire they showed."
Overall, Clevereley was satisfied with his side's performances against The Tigers, who had Ruben Selles in charge for the first time.
He said: "First half, we showed good periods of personality and quality on the ball. We knew they were going to come with high pressure, and it was all about having the character to break through that.
"In the second half, it was up to me to find a solution where we go a little bit more direct because the pitch wasn't lending itself to playing football - underfoot it was unsteady."
The draw with Hull extended Watford's unbeaten run to five games and put them eighth in the Championship, just a point outside the play-off places.
They are next in action at home to West Bromwich Albion, the team immediately above them in the table, on Sunday.
