Expectations were high for both teams, but it was the Epiphany Warriors who left a lasting impression on the home crowd with their impressive performance.

As the whistle blew to kick off the season, the Warriors displayed a mix of determination and skill. The first half saw both sides create chances, but neither could find the back of the net. 

Faith Ladies came close through forward Julian Fafali, whose wayward strike squandered a good opportunity. Epiphany Warriors' best chance in the first half fell to striker Diana Abuu, but her effort was saved by goalkeeper Annabel Bansah.

The breakthrough came shortly after halftime. Just two minutes into the second half, Beline Nyarko stunned the Faith Ladies' defense with a beautiful curler. A fortunate deflection saw the ball fall kindly to the playmaker, who calmly unleashed a shot that soared past the goalkeeper, securing Epiphany Warriors' first-ever Premier League goal.

With momentum firmly in their favor, the Warriors continued to pile on the pressure, while Faith Ladies struggled to regain their footing. 

In the 55th minute, substitute midfielder Grace Appiah Asamoah further solidified the Warriors' dominance. After a remarkable team play involving nearly 20 consecutive passes, Asamoah struck from the edge of the box, sending the ball beyond Bansah's reach to double the lead.

Despite Faith Ladies' valiant efforts to claw their way back into the match, the Warriors' defense held firm. Energized by the support from the home crowd, Epiphany Warriors played with confidence, signaling their potential for the season ahead.

As the final whistle blew, marking an unforgettable debut, both players and fans celebrated what would be remembered as Epiphany Warriors' first-ever win in the top flight.

This victory was more than just three points; it was a statement. The team had proven they could not only compete but also captivate their supporters with thrilling football.

With their first match in the bag, the Warriors now look to build on this momentum as they aim for a successful season in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League. 

Next up, they travel to face fellow newcomers Halifax Queens in match week two. Unlike the Warriors, Halifax Queens lost their opening match 1-0 to Jonina Ladies away from home.
