Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil’s fine form since recovering from a muscle injury continues as he bagged a goal and two assists in a game in consecutive outings.
Paintsil scored in the 58th minute and assisted goals by Gabriel Pec and Riqui Puig in the 38th and 48th minute respectively to aid the Los Angeles Galaxy beat Portland Timbers 3-2.
The former KRC Genk winger received a pass from Pec down the left side of the field and shifted the ball inside before planting it in the far post of the goal to put the Galaxy up 3-1.
Prior to the games, the Galaxy had beaten Colorado 3-2 with Paintsil delivering the same production in the win; his latest scoring outing puts him on eight goals for the season.
After playing three games in seven days, the Galaxy get some time off before taking on San Jose Earthquake in the Leagues Cup in the latest version of the Cali Derby on Thursday, August 1.
The latest round of MLS games had fellow Ghanaian winger, Osman Bukari, make his debut for Austin FC with Austin drawing 2-2 with Charlotte FC. Bukari played 57 minutes. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
