Caernarfon Town manager Richard Davies says he will “cherish forever” his side’s victory on their European debut.
Davies’ side beat Crusaders of Northern Ireland 2-0 in the Europa Conference League first qualifying round first leg through goals from Morgan Owen and Zack Clarke.
The teams meet in the second leg on Wednesday, 17 July, with the winners facing Legia Warsaw in the next round.
“An unbelievable night and a night I’ll cherish and remember forever,” Davies told BBC Sport Wales.
“I’ve got to give all the credit to the players – they were outstanding to a man tonight - even the subs, not just the starting 11.
“Two great goals to start us off and get us in at half-time 2-0 up.
“We showed the other side of us and the resilient side in the second half to keep a clean sheet so it gives us something to go for next week.”
Over 500 members of the Cofi Army are expected to travel to Belfast for the second leg, the largest away following for a Cymru Premier side in Europe for many seasons.
“We know they’re that 12th man – they’re unbelievable for us,” Davies added.
“I think there were 400 tickets sold already and I’m hoping there will be another 150 now jumping on the boat and on the planes and making some noise and getting behind the lads.
“They make such a difference. That first 15-20 minutes we just thrived off the energy off them. It was fantastic.”
