Tottenham forward Richarlison is to have surgery on a pelvic injury after "suffering for eight months".
The Brazil international, 26, started seven of Spurs' first 10 Premier League games this season but was an unused substitute in Monday's loss to Chelsea.
Richarlison, who signed for Tottenham from Everton for £60m in July 2022, said the "time has come to rest".
"The last few months haven't been easy for me. I've also been suffering with my health," he told ESPN Brazil.
"I've already spoken to the doctors and I'll soon have surgery on my pubis."
Spurs lost defender Micky van de Ven and playmaker James Maddison to injury during their chaotic 4-1 Premier League loss to Chelsea, while Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie must also serve bans following their dismissals in that match.
Manager Ange Postecoglou, whose side are second in the Premier League, is also currently without Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon and Ben Davies.
But Richarlison, left out of Fernando Diniz's latest Brazil squad for November's World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina, said it was time for him to focus on overcoming his own issues.
"I've been suffering for eight months, fighting for the national team and my club and I didn't look for me," Richarlison said.
"I think the time has come to rest, take a break," he added. "Let's see the next few days, soon I'll do what's best for me."
