Coach Martin Koopman was looking for his second victory in this season’s league to assuage the pain of their fans following their 0-1 loss to Tano Bofoakwa last weekend.

Unfortunately, Dreams FC who have had an impressive run in the CAF Confederation Cup came with other ideas which worked to their advantage as they managed to frustrate Hearts and went away with a point.

Coach Karim Zito’s side had not won at the Accra Stadium against Hearts of Oak in their last three games and was looking forward to upsetting the host as he launched into attack at the start of the game.

However, Coach Koopman who had made several changes to the team that played against Bofoakwa last weekend, ensured his boys were organised at the rear to avoid conceding any goal.

There was intense battle as the two teams fought hard in search of the opener during the first half, making occasional forays into the vital area but failed to score.

After recess they maintained their aggression and attacked but most of their threats were either foiled or near misses.

As the fans urged them on, Hearts increased their determination to score but they could not break the deadlock until the game came to an end, leaving the fans disappointed.

Nations FC deny Legon Cities maximum points

Premier League debutants, Nations FC, rallied from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Legon Cities in their betPawa Premier League game at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex yesterday.

Joseph Mereku put the visitors in front just seven minutes into the game but Nations FC came back strongly to equalise in the 54th minute courtesy of Barimah Baah to ensure they split the points.

Nations FC were buoyed by their 2-0 victory over Samartex two weeks ago and were confident of replicating it against Paa Kwasi Fabin’s side.

However, Coach Fabin, who returned to the dugout after serving his suspension following a red card two weeks ago against Heart of Lions, made two changes to the squad that beat Aduana 2-1.

Selorm Honu replaced Kwame Aziz in post while Ebenezer Armegah also gave way to Rahim Yaya.

Similarly, Nations’ Coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey also made one change to his team from last week where Burkinabe Goalkeeper, Rabin Ousmane Sanon, was preferred to keep the post ahead of Japheth Norvienyo.

Legon Cities looked the more determined side in the early part of the game and this resulted in an early goal in the seventh minute when Mereku scored.

However, after the interval, Nations FC demonstrated their determination to fight on and their resilience paid off just nine minutes after recess when Baah cancelled the lead and scored his second consecutive goal for his side this season.
