Accordingly, they have been told there would be regular doping test during the competition scheduled to take place in Accra next month.

In a statement, athletes were warned to ensure that whichever medication they were taking was not part of that which is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agencies (WADA).

“For athletes taking medication, it is important to ensure the medication is not on the World Anti-Doping Agencies (WADA) prohibited list”, the statement said.

It also advised athletes who are taking any medication that is found on the prohibited list to seek permission before taking it.

“If you find that a player is taking medication listed on the 2023 prohibited list, the athlete will need to apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption”, it said.

They further advise all athletes to get in touch with their respective National Anti-Doping Agency for more information on it.

“It is advisable to make contact with your National Anti-Doping Agency for further advise. In the meantime, for more information, visit the WADA website”, it said.
