The competition will comprise six districts in the Bono and Ahafo regions namely: Asunafo North, Asunafo South, Asutifi North, Asutifi South, Tano North and Tano South.

The ceremonial kick-off will be done by Wilberforce Kwadwo Mfum, former Kotoko and Black Stars striker, who is also a native of Ahafo-Hwidiem.

The festival will take off with an inter-district marathon final at 6:00 am.

The race will begin at Duayaw Nkwanta and end in Bechem.

The Homecoming Festival will be climaxed with a grand durbar on Saturday, December 31. It will be graced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the Guest Speaker, while Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will be the Guest of Honour.
