The Eastern Region Football Association(ERFA) has awarded three points and three goals to Division Two side Kwaebibirem United FC after a failed protest by fellow lower-tier side Okwawu United in the two teams division two middle league match staged on September 15 at the Dawu Sports Stadium.
In a disciplinary committee ruling on September 23 sighted by the GraphicSportsOnline and signed by the committee chairman Cyril Keteku Boateng, it also fined Okwawu United GHC1,000 and dismissed their protest against Kwaebibirem United FC.
It could be recalled that the two teams faced off in a middle league game and when referee Emnanuel Kofi Agbodavi awarded a penalty to Kwaebibirem it resulted in fans storming the pitch.
Okwahu United sent a protest to the disciplinary committee for the points to be awarded to them after the game ended abruptly.
However, this was dismissed by the disciplinary committee set up to probe the incident and Kwaebibirem's response was upheld.
Okwawu United by virtue of losing the points forfeited the match in accordance with article 33 (1)(b) of the regional football association league regulations.
