The Black Stars of Ghana played a more determined game but lost 0-1 to the Brave Warriors of Namibia during a friendly game played at the Jeber Ali Centre of Excellence in Dubai, yesterday.
The match, which formed part of the preparations of the Black Stars towards the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt, saw the Namibians scoring midway in the first half.
It was Manfred Starke who became the hero for the Namibians when he slotted home the ball after goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi failed to deal with the ball in his area.
Moments after the goal was scored, the Black Stars marshalled their men and pounced on their opponents, which earned them a penalty in the process, but Mubarak Wakaso, crashed the ball against the bar to the relief of their opponents.
Determined to make headway in the game, Coach Kwasi Appiah brought in fresh legs in the second half who mounted a siege against the opponents, but failed to find target.
Black Stars line-up in the first half: Ati Zigi, Joseph Attamah, Baba Rahman, Joseph Aidoo, Jonathan Mensah, Afriyie Acquah, Abdul Fatawu, Christian Atsu, Yaw Yeboah, Abdul Majeed Warris and Jordan Ayew.
Coach Appiah is expected to name his final 23 players for the AFCON tournament today before playing his second friendly match against South Africa on June 15.
