Professor Peter Twumasi, Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), has said, plans are far advanced to intensify the NSA’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF), to aid the maintenance of the various sporting facilities in the country.
Professor Twumasi in an interview with GNA Sports, said the NSA cannot depend solely Government subvention, hence the need to be creative and stay relevant in executing their core mandate.
According to him, a new policy is being worked and would be ready by the end of February.
He added that, the new policy, would guide the body mandated to train and develop athletes as well maintain and monitor all sporting facilities in the country.
“We want to intensify our efforts to boost the IGF, so we can run our activities effectively.
“We have a lot of tenants occupying our facilities, with no proper agreements with the authority. These relationships must be revised to help us generate enough income.
“We have gotten to a point where IGF should be intensified in every sector and by so doing we would make good use of our facilities to support our subvention from government," he added.
