The incumbent Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) President Prof. Francis Dodoo and the Ghana Weightlifting Federation (GWF),
President Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah, have submitted their forms to vie for the Presidency.
    
 The GOC election scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, will see either a continuation for the incumbent or a change to elect Mr. Nunoo Mensah, as the leader for a period of four years.
    
Ahead of the much awaited election, Mr. Nunoo-Mensah launched an ambitious campaign to lead the GOC.
     
In his campaign message dubbed “The Renaissance – Let’s get our sports working again” captures 19 key points identified to help revive Ghana sports.
    
 Part of the key areas he outlined to achieve is to create a transparent and accountable GOC, which will see to the involvement of all key stakeholders, from the board to sub-committee level.
     
The GWF President also highlighted the need to acquiring a modern and well-furnished structure by lobbying the Ministry of Works and Housing, to serve as its secretariat and will be named the Olympic House”, whilst efforts will be made at lobbying the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to visit Ghana.
     
Also, he said he will ensure the continuation of the abandoned Olympic Project at Amansaman, in the Greater Accra Region.
     
In the Secretary General race, the President of the Ghana Hockey Association Mr. Richard Akpokavi will be seeking for four year tenure but he has to brush aside competition from the Ghana Volleyball Association
Paul Atchoe who remains confident he will emerge victorious.
     
About 59 delegates, are expected to cast their ballots to elect new executives to manage the affairs of the Committee.
