Vice President John Dramani Mahama has commended the owners, management and staff of Ghana Nuts Limited (GNL), an agro-processing company at Techiman for efficient and successful operations.
He described the company as “elaborate and sophisticated” commercial manufacturing entity located in a rural setting.
He said he was surprised at the achievement of the company, taking into account its size, production and export capacity.
Vice President Mahama said this at a durbar of the management and workers of the company after a board-room meeting with management and a tour of the factory site on Tuesday as part of his one day inspection tour of the municipality.
He praised the ingenuity of management and hard work of workers and advised them to be more committed and cooperative to sustain the gains so far achieved by the company.
The Vice-President appealed to prospective entrepreneurs and investors not to restrict their investments in the cities because the GNL had proved that with the enabling environment provided by the government and best management practices, economic ventures could thrive anywhere in the country.
Mr. Obed Asante, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, said GNL annually exported 50,000 metric tonnes of sheanut and 80,000 metric tonnes of Soya-bean.
