Mr. Adams Nuhu Timbile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Wa West, has appealed to all sympathizers and activists of the party to stay focused, campaign on issues and desist from insulting opponents and engaging in violence in the run-up to the 2012 elections.
He said they must also eschew tribalism and self-centeredness and embrace development no matter who was bringing it adding that they needed each other now than before as they were bound to fail if they were divided.
Mr. Timbile said this in a speech after winning the constituency’s primary through acclamation at Wechiaw.
The new parliamentary candidate, aged 30, holds a first degree in Administration (Accounting option) from the University of Ghana and is
a Level three student of Institute of Chartered Accountants Professional Examinations programme
He said “Election 2012” must be an occasion and a vehicle for the realization of the hopes and dreams of the people.
Mr Timbile said during the tour of the constituency he saw hunger, disappointment and hopelessness in the people as promises made
to them had not yet been redeemed.
“Our footpaths must be made roads, our valleys must be bridged, our children must be educated, our farmers must be supported, our traders must be in business our mothers must smile while in labour we
must drink water from safe sources and our aged, sick and disabled must be cared for,” he said.
Mr. Timbile told the delegates that he was passionate about eradicating poverty and ignorance and had already started giving support to farmers, petty traders and small grants to students for the
acquisition of educational materials through his non-governmental organization.
