Mr Frank Amarble, Ketu-South District Chief Executive (DCE), has said that the demand for his dismissal by some youth demonstrators at Denu on Friday, was unmeritorious.
The DCE said that the allegation by the youth that he is arrogant, disrespectful and under-performing is unfounded.
Mr Amarble in an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Denu said that the demonstration was a "mere politically motivated campaign".
The DCE said that he was working hard and a team player and had not done anything wrong to warrant the street action demanding his removal.
He advised the youth to resist being used by some people to antagonise him since that would not benefit them in the long run.
Mr Amarble called on the demonstrators to take advantage of his open door policy and seek explanation to issues bordering their minds and
contribute to the development of the area.
The DCE said that he had good working relationship with all chiefs, opinion leaders and party functionaries in the area.
He said that roads in the Aflao Township have been awarded on contract and work would start soon.
Mr Amarble said that many projects including the relocation of Denu and Agbozume markets and the Three-Town Senior High School in the district were being delayed because land owners were not releasing land their execution.
A group calling itself, "National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth in Action for Development" in the district, demonstrated against Mr Amarble, calling for his removal as DCE of Ketu-South.
They accused him of lacking the capacity to solve problem of the area as shown in his inability to ensure the rehabilitation of the badly damaged roads within Aflao and its outskirts.
Some of the placards they carried read "DCE go Away," "No New DCE, NO Vote in 2012" and "No Development No Vote".
Mr Mengistu Agorbia, Spokesman of the demonstrators, numbering about 50, gave a petition addressed to President John Atta Mills to the Ketu-South District Assembly.
It accused Mr Amarble of lacking the ability to find practical solutions to problems facing the district.
Meanwhile the Ketu-South Constituency of the NDC in a release to GNA said the group is unknown.
Mr Ben Bella Haligah, Constituency Secretary, said the NDC supports demonstrations but was concerned about the illegitimate use of the party's name for such activities.
