The Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Wa East Constituency, has expressed gratitude to President John Atta Mills, for nominating Alhaji Issahaque Salia for the post of Upper West Regional Minister.
The Committee said the people in the Region were looking forward to receiving a peace maker, a unifier and a bridge builder, and thanked
President Mills for nominating Alhaji Salia for the post of Regional Minister.
In a statement issued and signed by Mr Issahaque Munawar, Constituency Secretary of the NDC, noted: "We reckon the fact that President Mills has taken into consideration the enormous experience Alhaji Salia has in political administration hence his nomination".
The Committee described Alhaji Salia as a peaceful, level headed, and an approachable person, who is needed to work towards the unity of the party and its growth in the Region.
Alhaji Salia was a Member of Parliament for the Wa East Constituency from 1993 to 2004 when he lost to Mr Godfred Bayong Tongu, the incumbent New
Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the area.
