Indonesia has expressed desire to have bilateral ties with southern Indian state Kerala in fields like information technology, tourism and small and medium enterprises sectors.
"Indonesia has wider strategy of broadening bilateral trade relations with India, especially with Kerala. The IT industry in Indonesia is not as developed as that in the state. We want to learn more from you," Indonesian Ambassador to India, Andi M Ghalib said in an interaction with members of
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
He also said Indonesia was mulling to double the bilateral trade with India from the current USD 10.55 billion to USD 20 billion by 2020.
"An organisation like Technopark is necessary in Indonesia and probably we will invite its officials to visit us for discussions on setting up a similar venture," the envoy said during his three-day visit to the state.
