The Vice-President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang through a message delivered by her Chief of Staff, Alex Segbefia has expressed appreciation to the people of the Volta Region for their support and loyalty over the years, especially during the 2024 elections.
Mr Alex Segbefia delivered the appreciation message on behalf of the Vice President during a visit to some communities in the Volta Region last Saturday (April 19, 2025).
The communities included Anloga, Dzita, Alakple, and Kedzie.
There were various Easter homecoming events and durbars organised by the communities to raise funds in support of ongoing projects.
The events brought together chiefs, community members, youth groups, and dignitaries from all walks of life in colorful displays of culture in unity.
“She wants me to tell you that, first and foremost, she thanks you all for the support that, over the years, you have given to all of us and which has also contributed greatly to the fact that we, as a political party and government, but more importantly, she is now the first female Vice-President of Ghana,” Mr Segbefia said.
He added, “She also wants to let you know that we have not and do not take your support for granted. She says your sacrifices and loyalty will not be forgotten.”
Addressing concerns about the Vice-President’s absence, Mr Segbefia assured the public that all is well and that Professor Opoku-Agyemang would soon return to office.
“She wants to let you understand that her love goes out to you all. No doubt, when she gets back into town, she will make a special effort to pass by and at least see the elders and traditional rulers of this town,” he added.
