The 2024 flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged members of the NPP not to indulge in blame games.
Rather, he has urged them to unite and be encouraged for the future.
Dr Bawumia, who was speaking to members of the party from the Klottey Korle and Ayawaso East constituencies of the Greater Accra Region on Tuesday morning at his residence said it was obvious from the statistics that the NPP gave the victory to the NDC.
The members from Klottey Korle and Ayawaso East were at the residence of the Vice-President to solidarise with him.
The members of the party were in very high spirits as they sang and blew vuvuzela to charge the atmosphere.
Members of the NPP from the Trobu and Weija-Gbawe constituencies also visited later.
Dr Bawumia, therefore, urged members of the party to remain optimistic saying he would continue to look up to God because whatever happened was his way.
He thanked the members for their support and asked them to stay put for the task ahead.
The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Klottey Korle constituency, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, on behalf of the constituents also urged them not to be broken even though, "We didn't get what we wanted."
"I still believe everything is possible," he added.
"We believe in your policies and we will continue to support you. We are there for you," Nii Nortey assured.
Nii Nortey also congratulated Dr Bawumia for what he achieved during the recent elections saying the NDC did not perform better than the NPP "but our party people did not help."
He said the Vice-President gave his all during the elections.
The NPP Member of Parliament elect for Weija-Gbawe, Jerry Ahmed Shaib described Dr Bawumia as a " classic leader".
He said his campaign for the elections was unprecedented.
He said the NPP was sad because the concession of the NPP flag bearer did not seem to be appreciated.
He said all the international and local bodies that called for peace before the election must call the NDC footsoldiers to order to stop the "hooliganism, vandalism and thievery taking place."
He said as an ambassador of peace just like the NPP flag bearer, they would also marshall their supporters if the looting and impunity didn't cease.
Mr Shaib expressed the love of the members of the party to Dr Bawumia and urged him not to relent.
He prayed for long life and strength for Dr Bawumia and urged all to support him.
The NPP Member of Parliament elect, Elder Emmanuel Tobin, for his part also urged the flag bearer not to be discouraged.
He said much as they could not win the Presidential election despite all the hard work, God would definitely make a way when the time comes.
Elder Tobin also assured Dr Bawumia of the support of members of Anyaa -Sowutuom Constituency adding that they would bounce back.
