The Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mawutor Agbavitor has stated that the party’s decisive victory in the 2024 general elections marks the beginning of a new era of substantial and rapid development projects for the region.
“The NDC will never depart from its promises to bring progress to the region and relieve the people of the hardships they suffered over the past eight years,” he said.
Mr Agbavitor said this at a mini victory rally at the forecourt of the NDC Volta Regional headquarters in Ho today (December 8).
He thanked the electorate for voting for change, saying the large figures the NDC garnered in all the 18 constituencies testified to the people’s strong desire for a change for the better.
“We have sterling development plans for to lift the region to greater development heights and create jobs for the teeming youth,” Mr Agbavitor added.

He mentioned the construction of the Ho-Denu Road, Keta sea port project in partnership with the private sector, a modern market in Aflao, as well the operation of commercial flights at the
Ho Airport as priority areas of the NDC development plan for the regions.
Mr Agbavitor thanked the party’s council of elders, chiefs and queens for the good guidance which saw the NDC through to victory, and the youth for the massive and unshakable loyalty for the party.
“We also appreciate the role of our religious leaders and foot soldiers for their directions to the right steps which led us to victory,” said the NDC regional chairman.
Meanwhile, Mr Agbavitor said it was gratifying the Hohoe Constituency seat had returned to the NDC, adding the seat would never return to NPP.
He urged supporters of the NDC in the region to maintain a joint and an impregnable front all the time to ensure smooth development.
Mr Agbavitor entreated the party’s supporters to remain calm as they celebrated victory, even in the face of provocation from their political opponents.
