A former aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s national chairman position, Nii Armah Ashitey, says he is committed to serving the party despite his defeat.
According to him, his doors were open and would welcome any call seeking his assistance to help the party to win the 2024 elections.
“My doors are opened and I will welcome any role within the rank and file of the party if the calls come for me to bring my experience on board. We started the NDC, and I’m still a member of the NDC, and so I’m ever willing to support the party to thrive in order to come to power,” he said.
Nii Ashitey disclosed this in an interview with the Ghanaian Times on the sidelines of his wife’s 60th birthday party at the Cedar Mountain Chapel at East Legon in Accra.
He said the party had come far and could not afford to remain in opposition forever, therefore there was the need to come together as one force to mobilise support for election 2024.
He called on party faithful to throw their weight behind the newly elected national executives for the good of the party as it prepares to recapture power in 2024.
Nii Ashitey also urged party faithful to attend branch meetings regularly in order to create a strong base for the party.
