Omanhemaa Nana Addai Ampedua II of the Bowiri Traditional Area, in the BiakoyeDistrict of the Oti Region,has called for unity among the people in order to champion infrastructure development.
The paramount queen mother made the call at a colourful coronation last Friday at BowiriAmanfrom,the traditional seat of Bowiri Kingdom, which consists of 15 towns.
According to Omanhemaa Nana AddaiAmpedua, disunity and division retard development and progress in society, and entreated the people both home and abroad to visit home regularly to contribute their quota to move the traditional area forward.
She urged the people to let go the past of any ill feeling against one another, and advised that peace needed to be maintained to be able to forge ahead with unity of purpose.
Nana Ampedua II pledged to operate an open door policyby welcoming advice and support from the people without any discrimination stressing that, “my doors are always opened for advice and any form of support irrespective of one’s background.”
She said she was aware of the enormous responsibility the office of the paramount queen mother brings, but assured that with determination and God’s guidance she would serve to achieve success during her period of reign.
The paramount queen mother thanked the chiefs and eldersand the people for accepting her to lead the traditional area,and pleaded that all hands should be on deck for all to move in progressive direction.
In his brief remark, the Krontihene of Bowiri Traditional Area, Okatakyie Nana TuapremAmenfi III,based his message on Luke 11.28, and stated God remains the omnipotentand urged the people to accept Him into their lives and worship him.
He asked the people to refrain from the lukewarm attitude and sitting on the fence to watch just few people to champion the development of the area.
The Krontihene added his voice to the clarion call for the need for peace and unity to reign among the people, adding “with unity there is nothing we cannot achieve as a people.”#
