Jihadists in Mali have released a video of a French journalist, Olivier Dubois, confirming that he was abducted by them last month.

In the short video, shared on social media, Mr Dubois, states his identity.

The journalist, who appears to be unhurt, says he was kidnapped in the city of Gao by the JNIM - a militant group affiliated to Al Qaeda.

He appeals to the French authorities to do all that they can to set him free. There has been no comment from the French or Malian governments.
