Forces loyal to Ethiopia's northern Tigray state have caused damage to the airport in the historic city of Aksum, state-linked Fana broadcaster has reported.
Last week, the government said its troops took over some key towns, including Aksum, from the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), which controls the region.
There is no independent confirmation of the claim that TPLF fighters were behind the destruction, and it is difficult to verify information because of a communication blackout.
Fana broadcaster has tweeted photos of the Aksum airport.

Ethiopia's prime minister has given TPLF 72 hours to surrender as government troops advance on the capital, Mekelle.
Tigray is of deep historical signficance. The Kingdom of Aksum was centred in the region, and the ruins of the city of Aksum are a UN World Heritage Site.
