Similarly, he advised members of vigilante groups to put their “heavily built” bodies into positive use as their acts of violence would not be condoned in the country, especially in the 2020 election.

According to the Paramount Chief of Asogli, the electoral violence in Ayawaso West Wuogon should not be entertained and appealed to Ghanaians especially politicians to demonstrate their commitment to the country above partisan political interest.

Addressing the House during its first sitting of this year, Togbe Afede urged all to contribute to ensuring free and fair election during the 2020 general election as cheating in election was not the preserve of any party.

 He asked Nananom to play their roles by reminding their subjects and politicians about the importance of free and fair elections so that, the peace in the country would be preserved and by so doing, making way for development.

He also disclosed that, the House would, very soon, sign a memorandum of understanding with their counterparts in Zambia that would seek to formalise their relationship as they sought to collaborate in diverse chieftaincy matters in the two African countries.

Touching on the newly created regions, Togbe Afede stated that, the House had agreed that, until the formation of new regional houses of chiefs, the various paramount and sub-chiefs would continue to owe allegiance to their current regional houses.

Togbe Afede also commended the Dagbon Traditional Council, the eminent chiefs led by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll, for peacefully collaborating to ensuring the end of the Dagbon conflict and also a successful installation of the new Ya-Na, Abubakari Mahama ll.
