Mr Sylvester Biekpe, Nadowli/Kaleo NDC Communication Officer has stated that Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has in the past years performed creditably well to the admiration of his constituents, Ghanaians and the entire world.
“Mr Bagbin’s political credentials and performance are there for everybody to see and there is no need belabouring the point or listening to his detractors.”
Mr Biekpe, who stated this in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency on the performance of the Second Deputy Speaker said his political experience and expertise was unmatched in the current political dispensation in the country.
He explained that Mr Bagbin had lobbied for a road stretch for the people of Kaluri, Sankana, Takpo, Nanvili, Kpaala, Charikpong, Tangasie which would connect to Nadowli.
On electricity, in two-thirds of the Constituency, the statement pointed out that the sitting MP had wired communities like Kaluri, Janguosi, and Charikpong, but then the NPP government failed to switch on the lights.
“A quick check at the assembly would have shown that electricity coverage will be 89 per cent complete if all projects inherited were completed. As of 2014, electricity coverage was 78 per cent according to the 2014 “District Analytical Report. As of 2016, extension works were on-going in various communities such as Duong, Nanvilli, Charikpong, Nator, Goli, Sankana, Takpo and Jang. New projects included; Kaluri, Penitobo, Janguasi, and Kanyinguasi.
“Unfortunately, the NDC lost power and the projects have all stalled, as usual, waiting for the return of the NDC to power. The government, in two years has failed to add a single megawatt to the national grid, therefore unable to switch on lights for communities such as Kaluri, Kanyinguasi, Pennitobo, which are all connected to the national grid as at 2016,”.
Mr Biekpe said in some of the communities, poles distributed were not being erected.
Mr James Dabaga, Deputy Communication Officer said claims in some quarters that Bagbin has misappropriated his share of the MP’s Common Fund was unacceptable as the best thing to do in reaction to such an embezzlement would have been to report him to the Police.
“…the Nadowli/Kaleo district hospital is nicknamed as Upper West Korlebu because it has become the most reliable and the most popular place of choice in the region for quality healthcare delivery. The district can also boast of one Ahmadiyya Hospital at Kaleo, Ten health Centres, 36 CHIPS Zones with 28 constructed as compounds.
He said the Charikpong Clinic is currently being re-constructed into a polyclinic, while the Jang Clinic was being upgraded into a polyclinic.
