Mr Latif Osman, an Information Technology Expert, vying for the Communication Officer position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Greater Accra Region, has pledged to develop a strategic communication tool to attract non-members to the Party.
He said running a communication office was like marketing a valuable brand, hence the need to create a strategic information team in all the 34 constituencies of the Party in the Region to monitor activities effectively.
Mr Osman, who holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Information Technology, and former member of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, promised to provide leadership and direction to enhance the image of the Party in the Region.
He expressed commitment to using social media effectively in propagating programmes and policies as well as the print and electronic media to enhance public relations to support the Party’s goals and objectives.
“I told the delegates that I saw myself as the most suitable candidate to occupy the position because of the past and continuous meritorious contribution and services to the development of the Party,” he said.
He said he had been a Director of Operation during the 2016 elections at the Odododiodioo Constituency, Chairman of the Campaign Committee, trainer of trainers of polling agents, and worked consistently at the grassroots since 1993-2016.
Mr Osman assured the delegates of his readiness to work with the executive in the 34 constituencies to reach out to the people to regain lost seats from the New Patriotic Party in the 2020 elections.
“I will ensure that all bottlenecks impeding effective communication in the Region are removed to allow more people to join the Party”. He gave the assurance that when given the nod he would embark on programmes and activities that would make the NDC more attractive in the Greater Accra Region and become vibrant.
