Mr. Phanuel Kadey Donkor, Adaklu District Chief Executive (DCE) has assured his people of his commitment to the development of the District. He therefore asked them to disregard claims that he was a hindrance to the rapid development of the area.
Mr. Donkor gave the assurance when he addressed a durbar to climax the Norvisi Festival of the Chiefs and people of Adaklu Have. The festival which was instituted to promote unity and development of the farming community was on the theme “Health, the wealth of every Community”.
The community recently threatened to demonstrate against the DCE for his alleged refusal to approved allocations by the Member of Parliament of the area of his share of the common fund to complete a Community-based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound project.
Mr. Donkor speaking to the allegations said he believed “every development project has to be included in the assembly’s Medium Term Development Plan before execution” and that he meant well for the District.
He therefore assured that work on the CHPS compound would commence in October this year and pleaded with the people to exercise restraint. Mr Donkor said a number of a 20 seater water closet toilet facilities would be built by the Assembly for selected communities, including Have, soon.
The DCE said the Assembly had received 1,500 electricity metres from the Ministry of Energy for distribution and that approval had also been given by the Ministry for expansion of electricity in 27 communities.
Mr. Precious Anku, Chairman of the Festival Planning Committee said the community had levied the natives to fund the CHPS compound and a nurses quarters, both at foundation levels.
