The International Conference Africa Convergence embraces the colors of Senegal for its 3rd edition on June 21 and 22, 2018
A month away from the 3rd edition of the Africa Convergence Dakar conference, (June 21 & 22) more than thirty high-level speakers, a combination of leading thinkers, players and commentators, have confirmed their attendance. Brought together by La Tribune Afrique around a multidimensional debate on the “Challenges of Strategic Execution in Africa”, they shall speak in front of an audience of nearly 300 professionals and address a crucial topic for the future of Africa and the emergence of economies. See the details below.
La Tribune Afrique, the Pan-African economic publication, will be proposing a distinctive edition for its annual event, Africa Convergence (www.africaconvergence.com), which will feature the theme of execution in public and private institutions. For this edition, Dakar, the Senegalese capital, will embrace the colors of the theme of this annual event that will be held at the Pullman Terranga hotel on June 21 and 22, 2018.
Why set the theme of strategic execution?
The execution of a strategy is a lot more challenging to implement than its architecture, which is what makes it a crucial topic that is necessary to achieve emergence. “Strategies require an alignment of interests between architects, executors and stakeholders in order to overcome resistance whilst transforming organizations and controlling space and time”, stated the founder of the event and CEO of La Tribune Afrique, Abdelmalek Alaoui.
This international conference will bring together exceptional speakers, namely the President of the National Assembly of Senegal, Moustapha Niasse who will open the event, and industry leaders Pascal de Izaguirre (Corsair), Patrice Fonlladosa (Veolia), François Pitti (Bouygues), Hassan El Houry (NAS), as well as President Benedict Okey Oramah of Afreximbank.
Other great voices that will speak include Kabine Komara, the former Prime Minister of Guinea, Idriss Aberkane, the expert in knowledge-driven economy, Zouera Youssoufou, CEO of the Dangote Foundation, Fatoumata Ba, the co-founder of Jumia, as well as Claude Grunitzky and Karim Sy., the founders of Trace TV and Jokkolabs.
As an exceptional guest-star, Africa Convergence will also have the privilege of welcoming philosopher Souleymane Bachir Diagne, who will shed light on the challenges of reconciliation of “the heart and reason”. Overall, the speakers have an in-depth knowledge of Africa as well as an expertise rooted in topical issues that make it possible to discuss the barriers and levers to unleash growth.
At the heart of this conference, our panelists will shed light on energy management and optimization, as well as the construction and financing of efficient infrastructures to create smart cities. Our experts will tackle the increase in water stress and the optimal strategies for transporting and processing "blue gold", without overlooking digital transformation that remains largely unexplored. They will also address the dual issues of structuring collective action through digital tools and unleashing the full potential of institutions.
And lastly, to overcome the challenges of strategic execution, education, cooperation and talent training are the new frontiers of value creation for states to increase and develop their "Soft Power". The panels will open up new possibilities through exchanges that bring together strong personalities who never have the opportunity to discuss and challenge their views.
Water, which gives African public authorities "cold sweats", will be the subject of an exceptional closing plenary which will bring together the President of Think-Tank Resources and Moubarack Lô, Director General of Senegal's Economic Foresight Office, and Chief Economist at the Prime Minister's Office.
You will find the detailed agenda, as well as the detailed list of speakers on the event website, www.africaconvergence.com. Attendance is by registration only through the following link Inscription Africa Convergence .
